GRAND CANYON SITE IS TWO YEARS OLD TODAY !
I would again like to send a very special "Thank You" to everyone on the web who has helped me with this project. I don't have the time to answer all of the E-mail I get regarding the site, but all of the input, comments, suggestions and praise are greatly appreciated. A list of the sites contributors can be found here.
Modifications to the South Rim Visitor Center page.
Began work on home pages for interpretive rangers.
Added an article on Weathering Winter from the Winter 1996 issue of THE GUIDE.
Added a phone number for contacting backcountry rangers at the North Rim backcountry Office.
Composting toilets have been installed at the end of the Tanner Trail, near the beach, as well as at Deer Creek, halfway between the creek crossing and the narrows.
Park service just finished a trail rehab. project on the Nankoweap Trail. Now why couldn't they do that BEFORE my hike? :)

The deadline for the comment period on the Grand Canyon / National Parks Overflights Act has been extended through November 16, 1996. It's not too late to let your voice be heard and help protect the natural quiet of the Grand Canyon. The air tour industry is pushing for an increase in the number of air tours over the Canyon when there are already too many aircraft in the skies there already. The park needs your help, let your voice be heard, and your vote be counted. It's not just the Grand Canyon that's in danger here, it's the entire national park system.
