8 Mile Fun Run to Support Arizona Special Olympics

Slower runners/walkers start at 0600 hours.
Come help us support Arizona Special Olympics and make a difference in the Northern Arizona Special Olympics community. Be a part of giving back something to Special Olympic Athletes. We are asking your help and support in making a difference in other persons lives. 100% of your entry fee will go to Arizona Special Olympics athletes. Our goal is to support Special Olympic Athletes in Arizona and make that difference that so many people miss. Come join the Grand Canyon community, run with Rangers and Special Olympic Athletes and support Special Olympics.
Date: May 8th 1999
Location: Grand Canyon National Park South Rim Grand Canyon N.P. is located approximately 80 miles North of Flagstaff accessible via highway 64 or 180. (1 1/2 to 2 hours from Flagstaff)
Course: 8 mile fun run on rolling paved challenging course with 2 surprises. Elevation 7,200' Average morning Temp. 37 degrees F. Starts at West Rim Interchange near the Bright Angel Trail Head. Finishes at Hermits Rest. Transportation will be provided for all runners/walkers back to the village. Sag support provided for individuals having a bad day!
Time: Slower walkers/runners at 0600 hours, all others 0630 hours.
Please be at fun run site by 0600 hours. Parking is within a 5-10 minute walk.
Course closes at 0900 hours.
Amenities: All participants will receive custom fun run tee shirt at the finish line, a light breakfast, hydration support on fun run course, and transportation back to the village (plus a good time).
Fun Run Fee: $35.00 entry fee. 100% of your entry fee goes directly to Arizona Special Olympic Athletes. We ask that you consider an additional $10.00 contribution or more. We thank you for helping make a difference in the community by helping others. Limited to 100 runners. No race day registration. Your contribution is TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Questions?
