9:30 - Just above the three-mile resthouse

I had a pretty good night. It was comfortable at least but still not a lot of sleep. I was up at 400 and packed things up and had a nice relaxing breakfast. I had two breakfasts actually since I didn't have a real one yesterday mroning. I was on the trail just a little after 600 and was at Indian Garden already by 830. I have not been stopping very much at all. I have only 3 miles to go and I would love to top out around noon or maybe a little later. I am dreaming of a taco salad (fresh veggies!) and a beer from the Maswik Lodge food court.

I arrived at the trailhead for the Bright Angel Trail right around 1130, somewhat earlier than expected. It felt wonderful! I waited for the shuttle bus over to the Backcountry Office... I am so done with doing any unnecessary walking today.

I had my taco salad and it was delicious! I also had a beer which was also quite delicious! I have an order of onion rings that I am taking with me for the ride back to Flagstaff. It's just amazing how wonderful real food is after backpacking for six days... and how it lures you to the end of the trail like a carrot dangling in front of a donkey.

I can't believe it is over already. What an amazing trip it was. I finally have Deva Temple! The third (or fourth?) time was the charm. I would prefer to think of it as the third attempt... it's all about the Power of Three.
