The Watchtower at Desert View

The Watchtower at Desert View is located at the eastern end of the Desert View Drive, near the parks east entrance station, approximately 26 miles from Grand Canyon Village. The watchtower itself is another fine example of the architecture designed for the park by Mary Colter. The watchtower contains a gift shop and for 25 cents you can climb the stairs to the top for an outstanding view of the Canyon and the surrounding area.

In addition to the watchtower, Desert View also has another curio shop, a snack bar, a small visitor center, a grocery store (Babbitt's) and a gas station.
