The Main Visitor center is now located at the Canyon View Information Plaza near Mather Point and can be accessed using the Village Loop shuttle bus. The information plaza itself has numerous exhibits which describe geologic as well as human history at the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon Association also operates a book store here. A short walk away, at Mather Point, you can see an awe inspiring view of the Grand Canyon.
 
You can also get a shuttle bus here to Yaki Point and the South Kaibab Trail.
 
The information plaza itself is open daily from one hour before sunrise to 9pm. The facilities located here are open from 8am to 5pm.
