Hopi House is located on the Rim Trail just east of the El Tovar Hotel.
 
Hopi House was designed by Mary Colter and was completed in January, 1905. The design of the structure was meant to reflect that of a typical adobe pueblo used by the Hopi indians of old Oraibi.
 
Hopi House was the first structure at Grand Canyon designed by Mary Colter and was the beginning of 40 year career with the Fred Harvey Company.
