Eddie Alvin Newman, born in 1900, was a Grand Canyon resident and employee of the Santa Fe Railway during the 1920's and 1930's. The photographs in this collection were from his personal album, and many are attributed to him as the photographer. Mr. Newman and his wife, Edna Greening, later moved to Ash Fork, Arizona where he was employed as a telegraph operator by the Santa Fe Railway. Mr. Newman died on his birthday, August 20, in 1952 in Ash Fork. Both he and his wife are buried in the Williams, Arizona cemetery.
